Location: Belladonna - Baider’s Blacksmith Shop

Baider’s Blacksmith Shop

Exterior Description

Baider’s forge is tucked near the southern edge of Belladonna, where the cobblestones give way to beaten dirt paths and the scent of soot clings to the wind. The building is squat, square, and utterly practical — stone walls with dark timber beams, a thick chimney that belches smoke by dawn, and a wrought-iron anvil sign creaking above the door. A few rusted swords and horseshoes hang on pegs outside. A wooden training dummy — half-burnt and slashed to ribbons — leans against the side wall. Deep gouges scar the stone doorstep from years of hammering metal and slamming stubborn doors. Blackened scorch marks climb up the chimney’s flank like claw marks.

Backstory

Baider was once a mercenary in a bloody border war near the Blasted Hollow. He left the battlefield with a shattered knee and a haunted look. When he found Kira — a half-starved half-elf orphan hiding in a caravan wreckage — he didn’t speak for days, just fed her and handed her a whetstone. He raised her as a blacksmith’s apprentice, but his ways were stern, even harsh. Baider believed tough love was the only love worth offering. Kira saw cruelty where Baider saw discipline. The two eventually clashed so bitterly she ran away — and he never looked for her. Now, he works alone, speaking little, forging much, and watching every shadow for the past he fears will return.
